Paphos airport expansion public consultation ends today
The public consultation period for the proposed Paphos airport expansion ends today, following the recent presentation of an environmental impact study in Timi.
The study, presented to local authorities and community groups, concludes that the expansion project, which includes runway extensions and terminal building improvements, will not significantly affect the environment or quality of life in surrounding areas compared to current operations.
According to the researchers, regular noise and air quality measurements at the airport site show levels well below legal limits.
The expansion works will be contained within the existing airport boundaries, requiring no additional land acquisition.
The development project, expected to last approximately 18 months, will include construction of a supplementary southern parallel taxiway and terminal expansion to accommodate an annual capacity of five million passengers.
